We believe that medical research is vitally important to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients and the wider population.
Haxby Group participates in medical research mainly acquired through the Primary Care Research Network in conjunction with the NHS Institute for Health Research.
Our surgeries across York and Hull are involved with research and have gone through the self-accreditation process with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), to ensure that we are aware of and take seriously, our responsibilities in meeting the criteria set out in the national research governance framework towards patient safety and confidentiality.
Recent studies which we have been involved with include the disease areas of arthritis, cervical screening, heart failure, depression, mental health, musculoskeletal pain and respiratory.
Thank you to all our patients who have participated in research in the past and who have found the process rewarding. We look forward to working with patients in future who are new to research.
Patients often find our research trails to be an interesting and enjoyable experience. If you would like to know more about the studies we are currently involved with, please speak to your GP or check out your practice Research Notice Board for current open studies/research information.
