Veteran specific support available
08th November 2021 - 10:00 AM
Today I’d like to talk about the mental health support available to veterans. We understand that Remembrance Day in particular can be a difficult time for those who have served in the Armed Forces, with the recent events in Afghanistan likely to have amplified this.
We’re proud to be one of the first practices to adopt Veteran Friendly status. This means we strive to understand the difficulties faced by ex-service personnel when it comes to accessing healthcare and aim to offer specialised support to veterans where clinically appropriate. If you have served in the Armed Forces please let our team know next time you are in touch with us. We can register you as a veteran on our clinical system; this is especially important when supporting you with health needs directly related to your military service, both physical and mental.
If you have served in the Armed Forces and are struggling with your mental health, talk to us. Mental health support is available through Op Courage which we can help you access. If you’re not ready to talk to us about your mental wellbeing, or need support with other areas of life on civvy street, there are a variety of organisations who can help, find out more using the links below:
