Why do I have to wait for my Covid Vaccination?

We continue to work to the cohort guidance provided by the Joint Committee for vaccination and Immunisation.
At present vaccinations are being offered to everyone in the first four priority cohorts:
- Residents in a care home for older adults AND Staff working in care homes for older adults
- All those 80 years of age and over AND Frontline health and social care workers
- All those 75 years of age and over
- All those 70 years of age and over AND Clinically extremely vulnerable individuals (not including pregnant women and those under 16 years of age
No one will be excluded from the vaccination programme. Please be patient. This will take months, it will not all happen in a few days. When it is your turn to be vaccinated, you will receive an invitation from your GP or the NHS team.
Please do not ring the surgery to ask about the vaccine. You will be vaccinated when the time is right and will not be forgotten.
