WORK STARTS ON HUNTINGTON SURGERY IMPROVEMENTS

Huntington Surgery is having a £300,000 face lift as work starts on Monday 27 July to improve the surgery and its car park.

Patients will benefit from brand new ground floor consulting rooms and a treatment room within the new surgery extension, once the building work has completed later this year.

The work involves demolishing an adjacent bungalow and building a new surgery extension which will include two new doctor’s rooms as well as an additional treatment room. The pharmacy area is being extended and improved and the reception area will be extended and modernised as part of the improvement work.

Patients and visitors will also benefit from better disabled access and toilet facilities.

In addition, the improvement work involves extending the car parking area to allow room for extra vehicles.

Dr Gill Towler said, “We are really looking forward to having a better surgery in Huntington which will benefit both patients and staff. Once completed, it will give people easier access, improved parking and a much more pleasant and spacious environment where people can be seen and treated.”

Managing Partner, Mr John McEvoy, added: “This is great news and is only the first phase of our long term plans for Huntington.   The improvements will take some weeks to complete and we will manage the project as well as we can to minimise the inconvenience to people coming to the practice, but we would ask people to be patient and understand that during the building work the surgery cannot operate as normal.”
